Worlds Oldest Golden Retriever

At St. Anthony’s Hospice, we love dogs! Did you know if you are visiting a loved one at the Lucy Smith King Care Center and their dog wants to come say hello, he/she can! As long as the pooch has all of their shots and is not aggressive toward strangers (our nurses, aides, housekeeping, other patients and family, etc. has to be safe) they can come visit for a little while.

We wanted to share an uplifting story that I’m sure everyone has heard of by now. Augie, the golden retriever from TN, has just celebrated her 20th birthday! This makes her the oldest known golden retriever. Check out her story here- https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/25/us/oldest-golden-retriever-august-trnd/index.html?fbclid=IwAR0QZ3pxZSvBAcaFsEQ0gGtg_WD__teZwQSLRpzm-LBix01G3DcGIx5-WLg#:~:text=August%20%22Augie%22%20turned%2020%20years,retriever%20celebrated%20her%20birthday%20recently

August "Augie" turned 20 years old on April 24 and is now the oldest golden retriever in history.
